Cort Arlint CPA Reno NV

Cort Arlint started the certified public accounting firm Arlint CPA in 2007. He is also a university accounting professor and a partner in the law firm Arlint & Armstrong.

Not your typical CPA, Cort worked as an auditor based in Reno for a CPA firm that took him around the United States auditing casinos. During a time of exploding tribal and state gaming expansion Cort was in the mix, counting down millions of dollars in high security vaults, verifying internal controls both physical and digital met strict state standards and he even performed a major role in uncovering a casino controller’s scheme to siphon money out of the company’s payroll.

Changing from casino auditing to governmental accounting, Cort broadened his experience with fund accounting taking part in auditing the State of Nevada, Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and the Washoe County School District. While living in Reno, Cort attended the University of Nevada Reno earning a masters in business administration spending his free time snowboarding the Sierra Nevadas and kayaking the Truckee River.

Cort moved from Reno to Las Vegas for law school, receiving a juris doctorate from UNLV’s Boyd School of Law. During this time he established Arlint CPA. Despite the odds and recession the company has grown remarkably serving hundreds of clients in Nevada and all over the world. Through hard work, Cort has established a reputation for accounting excellence and was recently ranked one of the top 10 CPAs in Nevada.

After successfully starting the CPA firm Cort joined Derek Armstrong Esq. to form the law firm Arlint & Armstrong. The law firm practices in the areas of tax, estate planning and business law. Cort represents taxpayers’ rights against the Internal Revenue Service in the US Tax Court. When Cort isn’t at the office he is teaching and writing books. Cort is faculty at a local university teaching various accounting and tax classes and in 2011 published “Towards a Working Model for Rulemaking Analysis.” A book critiquing the current accounting regulations established by Sarbanes–Oxley.

Cort has either been the owner of or working in a Nevada CPA firm for over 10 years and has working experience auditing the State of Nevada. Having the invaluable combination of law and accounting allows Cort to understand the complex tax and accounting regulations Nevada business owners face. Further, being a small business owner helps him appreciate the struggles many Nevada business owners are currently facing.
